University of Melbourne is the top university in Oceania (rated 1st in Oceania and 37th globally), according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011-2012, followed by Australian National University (38th globally), and University of Sydney (58th globally).
A total of 8 universities in Oceania ranked among the global top 200 list, with 7 from Australia and 1 from New Zealand.
